Free “Rhododendron 101” Flower Class | Los Altos

The American Rhododendron Society will feature a presentation by Dennis McKiver on Rhododendron 101, how to raise the best rhododendrons for the best show flowers. The program will include the choosing, planting, fertilizing, pruning, and pest and disease control of rhododendrons.

Dennis McKiver is a long time member (since 2001) of the Noyo Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society which meets in Fort Bragg, has over 1,000 species and hybrid rhododendrons growing on his property, won numerous trophies at Noyo Chapter and California Chapter Rhododendron Shows, and is active with the Mendocino Coast Botanical Garden, even leading tours of the garden.

The Mendocino Coast Botanical Garden is a 47 acre botanical garden located South of Fort Bragg which has an area dedicated mainly to Maddenii Series rhododendrons which are superb to grow in your area and should be in your gardens.

There is no charge for admission, and refreshments will be served.
