Event Details

Step back in time at Rancho Day and experience hands-on activities, performances, and displays exploring life on California’s historic ranchos and how today’s communities connect to that complex past.

The schedule includes:

  • Charrería performances featuring rope tricks by Charro Christian Navarrete at 11:15, 11:45, 12:45, 1:45, and 2:45.
  • Mexican Tin Art Workshop (additional fee applies). Create your own unique piece by designing, embossing, and coloring on aluminum tooling foil. Instructor: Rachel Palacios. Morning session 11am-12pm and afternoon session 2pm-3pm.
  • Spinning and weaving demonstrated by local Bay Area guilds.
  • Intergenerational storytelling with descendants of Juana Briones. Share family history with your own family members.
  • Display panels from the Museum’s past exhibitions telling the stories of Juana Briones and the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe.
  • Hands-on activities and games for children.

Admission to Rancho Day is $10 per person, payable at the entry gate. Museum members and children 12 and under are free.
