Event Details

San Francisco design store and gallery, Rare Device, is proud to present: Homebrew: New Work by Mickael Broth. The work will occupy the Rare Device gallery July 1 – 30, 2011. A reception for the show will be held Friday, July 1, 2011 from 7 – 9 pm. Drinks will be served.

Mickael will exhibit a new body of work in a show titled Homebrew. The work will focus on the idea of the comfort and fear that comes with being home. The show, which will consist of an installation composed of drawings, paintings, and photographs, explores the idea that the things you love most are also the things that have the potential to cause you the most pain. The work stemmed from his crippling fear that he will come home to find his house in flames with his dog trapped inside. Though the synthesis was a morbid fear, the work evokes optimism and happiness.

Rare Device is a store and gallery that features functional experiments and original ideas in art, design, craft and fabrication.
