Phoenix Books presents a release party and concert at The Makeout Room for two incredible new books:

“A Wizard, A True Star: Todd Rundgren in the Studio” a book by Paul Myers about the music pioneer who engineered or produced albums by The Band, Grand Funk Railroad and Meat Loaf (plus, Rundgren’s own “Time Heals” was the 8th video ever played on MTV). This is followed by an all-star tribute to Todd Rundgren featuring the Bye Bye Blackbirds, The Paul & John, Chris Von Sneidern and more.

“Music: What Happened?” a new book by Scott Miller (of the 80’s power pop SF Bay Area groups Loud Family & Game Theory). Scott will play a rare acoustic set following a reading.

Books will be signed & sold, cocktails will be served, authors will be glad-handing. Early happy hour show.
