Red Bull “Dance Your Style” San Jose Dance Battle (2023)

On Friday, May 12, 2023 (NEW RESCHEDULED DATE + NOW IN SAN JOSE) the global all-styles dance competition Red Bull Dance Your Style will return to Oakland. Taking place in front of Oakland’s City Hall at Frank H. Ogawa Plaza, the event will showcase Oakland’s pride and celebrate the diverse and world-class talent that defines the renowned dance region. The Red Bull Dance Your Style Oakland qualifier is open to the public, and tickets are available for purchase here.

Early Bird tickets start at $10 but rise to $15 and then $21 on the day of the event The event is now free and open to the public and takes place at the “Guildhouse” in San Jose

International street dance competition, Red Bull Dance Your Style, is coming to the Bay Area, this Friday, May 12, 2023. Taking place at Guildhouse in San Jose, CA, the Red Bull Dance Your Style Bay Area qualifier is free and open to the public.  The event will bring together the best dancers from the Bay Area and beyond to battle it out 1:1 for the regional championship title. Audiences will enjoy special performances by local surprise guests.

Doors are at 6pm with the event starting at 7pm.

The competition will bring together 16 dancers from the Bay Area region and beyond to battle their way one-on-one through a single elimination bracket. Each competitor will be tested on their musicality and performance skills, performing to the DJ’s randomly selected music – from top 40 hits to classic throwback jams. With no panel of judges, no planned choreography, and no pre-selected music, dancers must win the crowd’s vote for the regional championship title and guarantee their spot at the Red Bull Dance Your Style Chicago National Final.

Spotlighting homegrown talent and the magnitude of dance styles found within the city’s rich dance community, audiences can be expected to be blown away by the line-up of competitors that include: LA-based Popper Son Lam, the 2022 Red Bull Dance Your Style Oakland qualifier winner who returns to defend his title as champion, Fusion movement artist ​​RaeRae, Oakland-based Turfer Intricate, Whacker, popper and Femme Fatale member Lily Frias, Bay Area-based Popper CeCe, and more. Audiences will also enjoy showcases bySan Jose dance crew, the Playboyz, and other surprise guests.

Doors will open at 6:00 pm, with the official Red Bull Dance Your Style  qualifier beginning at 7:00 pm PT.
