Red Bull “Ride + Style” Minidrome Bike Qualifying Competition | SoMa

The Red Bull Ride + Style bike competition comes to SF at Justin Herman Plaza on Saturday, May 4, 2013, but on Saturday, April 27, 2013 from 3-7 pm, you can watch the qualifying rounds on a minidrome installed inside of DNA Lounge – a concert venue in SoMa.

The Red Bull Minidrome is a shrunken version of a velodrome, a traditional arena for track cycling. Consisting of a steeply banked oval track with two 180-degree circular bends connected by two straight sections, the Red Bull Minidrome delivers velodrome racing conditions in the smallest possible dimensions.

Riders interested in participating in the track portion of the Red Bull Ride + Style will have an opportunity to qualify on Saturday, April 27, 2013 on the Red Bull Minidrome.

At approximately 6:15 pm, after the qualifying runs are done, riders with the top 8 times will go into the final to win the final spots in the race (and alternate positions).

The winners will be invited to face off in Saturday’s event against the top ten racers from 2012.

There is no entry fee for the qualifier (or Red Bull Ride + Style).
