The North Bay Mobile Drive-In hits Novato with a renegade outdoor film screening in this DIY flash mob drive-in movie where you watch a flick on a 30-foot screen, tune your radio to 88.3 and drink in your car. Arrive early if you plan to park and watch. There’ll also be space for chairs and blankets in the front.
Pre-show runs 15-20 minutes and starts at 8:30. There will be a 20 minute intermission and raffle. Concession Stand is equipped with popcorn, hot dogs, candy and refreshments. There’s usually themed cupcakes and a raffle. They operate totally on donations.
August 25, 2012 – 8:30pm (Note earlier start time!) – The Empire Strikes Back – Star Wars Episode V (2004) – The battle between light and dark heats up our hot August Nights with the all-time classic space opera! Following the destruction of the Death Star, heroic Luke, Han and Leia (and friends) continue their struggle against Darth Vader and the Galactic Empire as the story of new love, betrayal and fraternal tension unfolds to include ice planets, AT-ATs, a cloud city, jungle worlds and a 900 year old Jedi Master.
>> Funcheap Bonus: Free Popcorn! – Get free popcorn and soda for anyone who mentioned SF Fun Cheap at the concession stand.
Ye Olde Drive-In Etiquette:
- Keep your headlights and tail lights off during the show.
- Refrain from talking outside your car during the movie (but there’s lots of fun socializing before the movie and at intermission).
- Please no smoking close to other cars or attendees.
