Event Details

When it comes to oceans and marine wildlife, it’s not often you hear good news. Hear it firsthand from the scientist tracking this stuff: harbor porpoises are back in the SF Bay Area.

Join the Bay Model for a talk by scientists Bill Keener and Isidore Szczepaniak of Golden Gate Cetacean Research on the return of harbor porpoises of SF Bay.

Come hear the good news about these cousins of whales and dolphins, finally returning after a 65-year absence. Learn about the ongoing research on the porpoises’ abundance, habitat use, social behavior, reproduction (!) and interactions with bottlenose dolphins (cousin love?).
