Join us for a vibrant celebration of Juneteenth, a significant day in Black history, commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. The City of Richmond is excited to host a memorable Juneteenth Parade and Festival on June 22nd, 2024, from 10 am to 6 pm.

Why Juneteenth Matters:

Juneteenth holds deep significance in the Black community, symbolizing freedom and the end of slavery. It marks the day in 1865 when news of emancipation reached Galveston, Texas, effectively freeing the last enslaved individuals in the Confederate states. This day reminds us of the ongoing struggle for equality and justice.
