Event Details

The Human Rights Center at UC Berkeley will present a striking show of black and white photography by Chris Beale, which documents the ethnic cleansing of the Rohingya in Myanmar and their survival in Bangladesh.

Beale takes us through the events of 2012-2017, beginning with life in the villages and confinement camps of Rakhine State (Myanmar), through the mass exodus to the now sprawling refugee camps in Bangladesh.

The opening reception at Berkeley Law will feature a brief program with the photographer, Faculty Director Eric Stover, and other special guests. A reception and guided tour of the photographs will follow.
