“Safe Words” Comedy & Hot Dogs | SF

Safe Words is a comedy show at a leather bar that features the talent of nationally touring comics, to local favorites. Faces from Comedy Central, Conan, Reddit & Vice have graced the stage. Even Margaret Cho (HBO, 30 Rock) has stopped by.

Every first Wednesday, host Kollin Holtz cracks the whip on comedy at 6 pm. Admission is donation-based.

The show has free hot dogs with door prize drinks from 6-8 pm, $3 for select beers on tap, and buy one get one free on well drinks.

This month at the Safe Words features:
  • Joey Avery is a standup comedian rising quickly in the San Francisco comedy scene. You may have see him in the top 10 videos on reddit from time to time.
  • Dominique Gelin is a comedian in Oakland, CA who offers strong opinions on stupid things, -isms, and assholes. It’s all very fascinating. She has performed at SF Sketchfest, Boston’s Women in Comedy Festival, and was a finalist for the Ultimate Miami Comedian.
  • Richard Sarvate is a regular host at the SF Punch Line, he’s written sketches with Don Novello, been in SF Sketchfest, and recently completed a 20 show tour of India.

Joined as always by house regulars Joe Gorman(SF Punchline), and Zach Chapaloni (MTV). This months drink specials include $2 off well drinks and beers on tap. There will also be complimentary hotdogs.

Headliner: Matt Gubser, first put his savvy, social/political satire out there with his debut comedy album, “Daddy Issues.” Now, this Savage Henry Comedy Festival veteran is gearing up for Volume #2.

As always, the happy hour comedy show is hosted by Kollin Holtz (Viceland’s “Flophouse”), with Steve Dalton (BARs “Best Bartender”) slinging 2 for 1 wells, & beer specials.
