“Safe Words” Comedy & Hot Dogs | SF

Safe Words is a comedy show at a leather bar that features the talent of nationally touring comics, to local favorites. Faces from Comedy Central, Conan, Reddit & Vice have graced the stage. Even Margaret Cho (HBO, 30 Rock) has stopped by.

Every first Wednesday, host Kollin Holtz cracks the whip on comedy at 6 pm. Admission is donation-based.

The show has free hot dogs with door prize drinks from 6-8 pm, $3 for select beers on tap, and buy one get one free on well drinks.

This months show is co-hosted by John Gallagher, a fine young man from Reno, Nevada who was on of the minds behind the hit video The Wolf Of Bitcoin.

We expect to be joined by house regulars, Joe Gorman and his co-producer on “The Dirty Show” who is fresh back from Japan, Zack Chapaloni (MTV).

Featuring:

  • Comedian Brooke Heinichen is a Bay Area-transplant, Ohio-native. She performs nightly around the Bay Area, and has performed at Cobb’s Comedy Club, the SF Punchline, the Dublin Comedy Cellar, and at the 2016 Lady Laughs Festival.
  • Nicole Love tours clubs and colleges all over the Bay Area, and has performed at the Redwood Comedy Festival.
  • Walker Glenn has honed a style that can only be described as “confidently insecure.” His material is as empowered as it is self-effacing; Walker Glenn is a man who will tell you his most embarrassing secrets in a voice so loud and assured you can’t help but laugh.

Headlining the show, Scott Simpson is a comedian and writer who has performed at SF Sketchfest, the Bridgetown Comedy Festival, and the North American Comedy and Music Festival. He produces the most popular independent comedy show in San Francisco, and his show “You Look Nice Today” has received the Podcast Award for Best Comedy Podcast.

The show also features your regular host, Kollin Holtz (Viceland, SF Sketchfest) as well as the Bay Area Reporters best bartender, Steve Dalton. The happy hour specials are $2 off well drinks, and beers on tap. And as usual, you can expect complimentary hot dogs to go along with Safe Words, the comedy show at a leather bar.
