Safeway’s $5 Sandwich Deal | Through August 30th

We’re addicted to Ike’s Place Dirty Sauce and we think that Escape From New York’s Meatball Sub is the (cholesterol) bomb, but for our money, the best sandwich deal out there for August is at Safeway.

Safeway’s “Signature Cafe” sandwiches are normally a pretty good deal: $5.49 with pretty generous toppings (have you seen how much avocado they put on each sandwich??)

But through August 30th Safeway’s Meal Deal is just $5 and includes a fountain soda (or 20oz bottle) and a bag of chips. With tax it comes out to $5.39. Plus for every 7 sandwiches you buy you get a free one.

You must have a Safeway club card (it’s free) and we’re not sure how many Safeways this offer is good for (we know it’s good at Castro Safeway and on Jackson Street in the Financial District.

And yes, this post may sound like a commercial but it comes from the heart and stomach… Johnny Funcheap actually really loves the Bistro Club (that’s chicken, bacon and avocado) on Italian Rustic
