Event Details

Take part in a tradition,, at a Samoan Flag Day celebration on Saturday, August 13 at Phillip & Sala Burton High School.

Every year, the Samoan Chiefs Council of California puts on a celebration to commemorate the raising of the United States flag over American Samoa in 1900, as well as to foster ethnic recognition and cultural self-esteem among Polynesians.

This year’s festivities include the ceremonial flag raising, Polynesian song & dance, a rugby tournament, indoor volleyball, food vendors,  arts & crafts and much more, so taste some taro and tackle your teammates, while taking part in this traditional celebration of Samoan culture.
