San Francisco Chamber Orchestra Free Concert | La Belle France

The San Francisco Chamber Orchestra opens their 2012–2013 season with a musical journey to France, featuring Mozart’s “Paris” Symphony (No. 31) and works by Françaix, Couperin, and Ravel.

Friday through Sunday, October 12 through 14, Conductor Benjamin Simon brings the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra to Herbst Theatre, First Congregational Church of Berkeley, and Stanford’s Dinkelspiel Auditorium to perform a wide-ranging program of French music including Jean Françaix’s brilliant Divertissement for Bassoon and String Orchestra and Maurice Ravel’s hauntingly beautiful Le tombeau de Couperin.

All performances are admission-free and include a pre-concert talk by Maestro Simon beginning 30 minutes before each concert time.
