The San Francisco Amateur Astronomers puts on monthly (approximately) public events with a public lecture on the stars followed by a public viewing through telescopes. Events start at sunset and are held at Lands End (Point Lobos) in the North-western corner of San Francisco in between the Presidio and Ocean Beach.
If you show up an hour early, the Sidewalk Astronomers conduct a telescope clinic. Send an email if you want to attend. If they know you’re coming, they might be able to track down an expert for you.
- By email: clinic@sfsidewalkastronomers.org
Please let them know what date you plan to attend, and what kind of telescope you’re bringing.
