A Rewarding and Scenic Race Through the Streets of San Francisco!

Running the full marathon in San Francisco is an experience of a lifetime. The course has STUNNING scenery and the city’s most iconic landmarks. Crossing the Golden Gate Bridge will not disappoint you; this is perhaps the most breathtaking moment of the race.

Passing through Fisherman’s Wharf, the Marina Green, and Crissy Field on your way to the Golden Gate Bridge is an unforgettable experience that will stay with you long after the race. Sweeping views await you on the north side of the bridge and breathtaking downhill segments.

Crossing the halfway mark as you exit the Golden Gate Bridge and head back into San Francisco, you are rewarded with another amazing view of the Pacific Ocean. Traverse to Golden Gate Park, exit on Haight Street, and experience the vibrant local neighborhoods. Pass the homes of the Golden State Warriors and San Francisco Giants and finish as you run under the Bay Bridge. Cross off that bucket list; you did it!

Bridge Half / 1st Half Marathon

Start Time: 6:30 a.m.
Start Line: Embarcadero at Market
Finish Line: Presidio, Lincoln at Ralston
Distance: 13.1 miles with a 3-hour time limit.
Race Fee: $288.78

City Half / 2nd Half Marathon

Start Time: 8:30 a.m.
Start Line: MLK Jr. Drive @Golden Gate Park  (see shuttle info below)
Finish Line: Embarcadero at Howard (Full Marathon finish line)
Distance: 13.1 miles with a 3.5-hour time limit.
Race Fee: $242.11

The San Francisco 10k

We’re delighted to announce that @thesfmarathon has become Olympian Alexi Pappas’ home race and a place where she can nurture her love for the sport. With her help, we can’t wait to create a truly unforgettable race experience for all our runners. Meet Alexi at the Race Expo and take on the Alexi Pappas SFM 10K, a race overflowing with excitement, fun, and glitter!

The Saturday 5K Waterfront race features a flat, fast course that’s perfect for racing with friends or walking with a stroller and family dog. Either way, both 5Ks are great ways to experience the festivities before Sunday’s big event.

Race Highlights
Our 5K runs through miles of waterfront that draw millions of visitors each year. Take in views of the Bay, the Bay Bridge, Treasure Island, Coit Tower and much more. Runners enjoy San Francisco’s iconic backdrop while earning a spot at the finish line festival in front of the Ferry Building. Our 5K Race invites runners of all levels to experience our fast, flat course and participate in the finish line celebration.

The Ultramarathon

What You’ll Experience: Running two marathons in San Francisco is a challenge for the bold! Along the way, you’ll take in:

• Breathtaking views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the San Francisco Bay.
• Iconic parks, areas and neighborhoods including Fisherman’s Wharf, the Marina Green, Crissy Field and Sausalito, Presidio, Golden Gate Park, the Haight St, and the Mission District.
• Up-close views of major league sports stadiums including homes of the Golden State Warriors and the San Francisco Giants.
