Event Details

With 130 shows on 17 different stages, the San Francisco Theater Festival is a one-day theater extravaganza at the beautiful Yerba Buena Gardens. Festival performances range from 15-30 minutes and include all kinds of theater, from Beach Blanket Babylon to Shakespeare, comedy, drama, musical theater, children’s shows, solo performances, improv and more.

The festival is FREE and takes place in the Yerba Buena Gardens arts complex.

Want to avoid lines and have VIP access to the festival? While the festival is free, Goldstar exclusively presents a VIP Wristband for the Festival which includes front-of-line and reserved seating privileges, a t-shirt and access to the Festival Kickoff Party.

Featured at the 2010 festival are:

  • Beach Blanket Babylon – Cast members will give a sample of their long-running show beginning at 1 pm.
  • Lamplighters Musical Theatre – excerpts from “Pirates of Penzance” following Beach Blanket Babylon.
  • The Big Lebowski . . . Over the Line! – Urban Achievers see their favorite film taken to satiric heights in this interactive theatrical re-interpretation of the Coen Bros classic!
  • Piano Fight – A delightful collection of comedic sketches that address everything from Nursery Rhymes to Dictators.
  • We Players – Join We Players for select moments from Hamlet on Alcatraz coming to The Rock October 2010.
  • PlayGround – PlayGround presents two short plays selected from this year’s Best of PlayGround Festival.
  • Ray of Light Theatre – Don’t miss the West Coast Premiere of this outlandish, shocking and hilarious opera based on the long running television talk show. ~ Jerry Springer, The Opera
