Event Details

The San Mateo County History Museum continues its “Free First Fridays” program on April 5, 2024. Not only is admission FREE the entire day (10 a.m. until 4 p.m.), but three programs are planned for the public without any fees.

At 11 a.m., recognizing the museum’s new exhibition on the Cow Palace, preschool children will be invited to learn about that place. They will make paper plate cows. Then Museum staff will conduct a reading within the Cow Place exhibit. Here the youngsters will hear the story, B is For Buckaroo: A Cowboy Alphabet.

At 1 p.m., Carolyn Hoskins, founder of the Domini Hoskins Black History Museum and Learning Center, will present a program entitled “Proud, Strong, Fearless, Inspiring: The Story of African Americans throughout our History,” in the beautifully restored “Courtroom A.”

At 2 p.m., History Museum docents will conduct a tour for adult visitors.
