Event Details

Gather with like-minded vegans for a Fourth of July potluck picnic on a pristine Peninsula beach as an alternative to the usual meaty BBQs. Bring a dish to share, and maybe something to drink or play on the beach with and build sandcastles or cozy up with local vegans in this fun social event. About 50 people show up so be sure to RSVP.

This event is aimed at a very specific crowd: vegans and folks trying vegan foods. As such, there are rules in place. First, bring enough for six servings (and that doesn’t mean 6 bite-size niblets). Second, please bring solely homemade dishes and not store-bought; part of the reason for this is so you have complete control about what goes into the dish. Third, bring a copy of the recipe with you so that you can share the preparation and because many people have specific allergies and need to keep an eye on ingredients. Finally, bring reusable dishes (better for Mother Nature).

Location: Montara State Beach is on the Peninsula in San Mateo County, approx. 20 miles south of SF. The beach is located 8 miles north of Half Moon Bay on Highway One. One beach access is across from Second Street, immediately south of the Outrigger restaurant. Once down there, look for the green & white canopy with the “San Francisco Vegetarians” sign on it.

Disclaimer: Please double check event information with the event organizer as events can be canceled, details can change after they are added to our calendar, and errors do occur.
