Join REI and Save The Bay for Ring Around the Bay, a morning of volunteer stewardship activities to restore native wetland habitat around the Bay. The largest estuary on the Pacific Coast, San Francisco Bay is an ecological treasure; it supports hundreds of species of wildlife, including 105 threatened and endangered species, such as the California clapper rail, salt marsh harvest mouse, and snowy plover. Here’s a unique opportunity to help these species thrive.
Work will entail cleaning up the shoreline and removing invasive plant species. No prior experience is necessary. Save The Bay will provide work gloves, tools, and project supervision. Enjoy a tasty lunch, courtesy of Chipotle. Enter to win raffle prizes of great REI gear, and take home a goodie bag with REI and Save The Bay swag.
