Learn how to make a 2-minute video about science!
Free Workshop @ UCSF- Mission Bay on Saturday January 6th 10:00 – 4:30pm
Effective communication is crucial for successful public engagement in science. www.sciencesketches.org empowers scientists to share their research with the public, funders, journalists, the government, and other scientists in an easily digestible format.
Join us for a 1-day fun and hands-on workshop to learn how to create a 2-min video about big-picture concepts in biology.
Event details:
10:00am – 12:30pm: Intro to Science Sketches and how to craft your science story. Working in groups, you will be                                     guided in how to map out your narrative and sketches by thinkng about the big picture concepts
12:30pm –   1:30pm: Lunch (not provided) and time to work on your script/sketches
1:30pm –   2:30pm: Record your narration and film your sketches
2:30pm –   3:30pm: Learn how to edit your audio and video recordings to compile your Science Sketches video
3:30pm –   4:30pm: Finishing touches to your video
All are welcome: you don’t have to be a scientists or an artists, though both are obviously welcome too!
