Event Details

The East Bay Science Café is a Café Scientifique style forum for discussing interesting and relevant scientific issues. The goal is to encourage public engagement with science by inviting members of the scientific community to present topics for a casual evening of conversation. This multimedia presentation covers the early embryonic development of crustaceans and arachnids. During the transition from a single cell to a fully functional adult, animal embryos must organize their cells into multiple layers with distinct regions that will eventually develop into the systems of the adult.

The speaker will be R. Crystal Chaw, a graduate student and National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow in the department of Integrative Biology at UC Berkeley.
