Event Details

On Friday, December 4, ICA Live! will present a performance by cellist Hannah Addario-Berry and media artist Clive McCarthy. One hundred years ago, Hungarian composer Zoltán Kodály composed Sonata for Solo Cello in B Minor, Op. 8, one of the most significant works written for the instrument since the Bach Suites. In celebration of this centenary, Addario-Berry has created a program that showcases the 1915 sonata.

For the ICA Live! performance, Addario-Berry will play the second movement of the sonata in collaboration with McCarthy’s projected Electric Painting that will interact with the music from the cello.
