Event Details

Join Dr. Preston Maring – Associate Physician-in-Chief at the Kaiser Permanente Oakland Medical Center and a contributor to the recent cookbook “Eating Well in Season: The Farmers’ Market Cookbook” – along with his son Dr. Ben Maring for a cooking demo featuring seasonal ingredients and inspiring ideas for healthy eating. The Drs. Maring will be preparing crostinis using local and fresh ingredients.

Dr. Preston Maring brought farmers’ markets to Kaiser Permanente facilities beginning in 2003, and there are now over 40 markets at its facilities or sponsored in local communities in five states and Washington D.C. Today, the markets bring healthy produce to both Kaiser Permanente patients and the community. Dr. Ben Maring has recently developed a series of cooking classes that incorporate nutrition and clinical medicine called “Cook Healthy, Eat Fresh.”
