Take a ride and visit two of San Francisco’s most inspirational and iconic non-profit institutions, SCRAP and Building REsources.
$5 for non-members. Free for SF Bicycle Coalition members. RSVP is required for all.
SCRAP (Scroungers Center for Reusable Art Parts) is a creative reuse warehouse and workshop space, diverting materials from the landfill into the hands of artists, teachers, nonprofits and general public. Visit SCRAP’s 5,000 square foot warehouse and see textiles, buttons, paper, craft, toys, frames, office supplies and more. Hear about creative reuse workshops, field trips, materials give-aways and outreach activities they host to inspire creativity, educate about reuse and support educators.
Building REsources is San Francisco’s best source for reusable, recycled and remanufactured building and landscaping materials. Wander BR’s acre and a half of well organized, inspirational and occasionally amazing finds, including lumber, doors, bathtubs, lighting, furniture and tiles, as well as see a wealth of completed projects by the talented staff working there.
Please note: Rain cancels this ride.
