SF City Hall Lights up Red White & Blue (July 3-5)
San Francisco’s City Hall and its 220+ state-of-the-art LED lighting fixtures will illuminate in red, blue, and white to celebrate American Independence Day.
City Hall 2020 4th of July Lighting Schedule
July 3 – Kick Off
July 4 – 4th of July Celebration
July 5 – Final Day
The schedule is always tentative for the holiday lighting and subject to change when there are special events and the building is lit in honor of those.
Please note that occasionally special lighting are pre-empted, changed, or canceled due to extenuating circumstances.

- July 1, 2020 – red/white – the colors of the Flag of Canada – in recognition of the National Day of Canada
- July 3 – July 5, 2020 – red/white/ blue – in recognition of the American Independence Day Holiday
- July 6, 2020 – purple – in recognition of our Hospitality Industry
- July 7, 2020 – gold – in recognition of our Frontline Workers
- July 8, 2020 – blue – in recognition of our Healthcare Workers
- July 9, 2020 – red/white/blue – in recognition of our First Responders
- July 11, 2020 – pink – in recognition of the last night that the SF Pink Triangle will be lit for 2020
- July 13, 2020 – purple – in recognition of our Hospitality Industry
- July 14, 2020 – blue/white/red – the colors of the Flag of France in recognition of Bastille Day/the National Day of France
- July 15, 2020 – blue – in recognition of our Healthcare Workers
- July 16, 2020 – red/white/blue – in recognition of our First Responders
- July 17, 2020 – purple – in recognition of National Cleft and Craniofacial Awareness Month
- July 20, 2020 – purple – in recognition of our Hospitality Industry
- July 21, 2020 – gold – in recognition of our Frontline Workers
- July 22, 2020 – blue – in recognition of our Healthcare Workers
