Event Details

Join one of San Francisco’s bartending legends, Dominic Venegas, as he takes you on a personal walking and drinking tour of his favorite historical establishments in San Francisco on September 25, 2010 from 11am until the early evening.

You can join any time, and Dominic will do his best to follow the schedule below. Free admission; no-host bars

Full Schedule

  • 11:30 a.m. BUENA VISTA CAFÉ 2765 Hyde St. at Beach St.
  • 12:30p – Walking tour begins!
  • 12:45p – LAS MARGARITAS 2801 Leavenworth St., Suite 19, at Beach St. (Hidden gem with an exceptional selection of tequila.)
  • 1:15p THE PARLOUR 2801 Leavenworth St. at Beach St. (New cocktail bar in Fisherman’s Wharf.)
  • 1:45p Walk into North Beach and stop for historic facts of the Barbary Coast and San Francisco drinking lore.
  • 2:15p – TONY NIK’S 1534 Stockton St. at Union St. (North Beach local watering hole. We’ll stop for a quick beer.)
  • 2:45p – Walk up Green Street towards Grant and tell the stories of Amante, Rossi’s, Gino & Carlo’s. Stop in for a possible slice of pie at Golden Boy.
  • 3p – SAVOY TIVOLI 1434 Grant Ave. at Green St. (A gem and museum for SF cocktail nerds.)
  • 4p – 15 ROMOLO 15 Romolo Place at Broadway (New school cocktails for the resurgence of cocktail chic.)
  • 4:30p – Walk by and maybe stop into SPECS, TOSCA, and VESUVIO and talk about their significance and beauty. If there’s time, drop by MR. BING’S and talk about some of the Chinatown watering holes.
  • 5p – COMSTOCK SALOON 155 Columbus Ave. at Kearney St. (Tour ends with the history of the Comstock and the rest of the historic bars on Kearny St.)
