Stories from the Bay Area’s Last Original Mile House
Guest speaker: Vanessa Garcia

Please note new meeting location: Newman Hall, Congregation Sherith Israel, 2266 California (at Webster)

Over the years, Vanessa has collected trivia and bits of information bar regulars, employees, and descendants of former owners, as well as old documents, maps, periodicals, and books from different libraries and government offices. She has compiled her discoveries into a new book, See You at the Seven: Stories from the Bay Area’s Last Original Mile House. “I feel I owe it to those who started 7 Mile House, and those who continue to make it a special place, to share these stories,” Vanessa says. “7 Mile is what it is because of all these people. I think it’s only proper to keep their memories and the stories alive.” Books will be available for sale and signing.

Doors open at 7 p.m. with refreshments and a historical book sale; presentation begins at 7:30 p.m. sharp. There is a $10 admission for nonmembers. Paid parking at CPMC on Webster, one block away, plus a limited amount of street parking. Muni: 1, 2, 3, 10, 22, 24.
