Mission Statement
Yes SF’s mission is to spark a renaissance in San Francisco by empowering the city’s visionaries, innovators, and communities. We provide a dynamic space where small businesses and local organizations can thrive, drawing strength from collaboration and shared resources. Through tailored support, from workforce development to creative community programming, we aim to shape a future where opportunity and sustainability go hand in hand. Our work is about more than economic growth—it’s about cultivating the spirit of San Francisco. In our new headquarters located downtown, our goal is to cultivate an accessible gathering space where art, culture, and commerce intersect in ways that benefit all residents. Yes SF is committed to fostering connections that breathe new life into our neighborhoods, making San Francisco a place where diverse voices and ideas come together to build a resilient, equitable, and prosperous city.At Yes SF, our mission is to ignite San Francisco’s revitalization by creating a vibrant, accessible, and inclusive space where innovation, community, and culture converge. The Yes SF Headquarters will serve as a central hub, a welcoming “living room” for the city, where residents from all neighborhoods can gather, collaborate, and participate in shaping San Francisco’s future. Our long-term goal is to contribute to the city’s resurgence and provide a dynamic environment that fosters economic growth, cultural vibrancy, and community connection.
Long-Term Goals
Yes SF is dedicated to positioning San Francisco as a global leader in urban sustainability and economic innovation. Over the next several years, we plan to expand the Yes SF model into a network of “Yes Cities” worldwide, each serving as a beacon of sustainable practices, inclusive growth, and community-driven revitalization. By working with global partners like the World Economic Forum, we’re making sure San Francisco stays a key player in the global conversation about urban resilience. In the next 1-2 years, our top priority is making Yes SF Headquarters a key player in the city’s recovery. We aim to create a space where innovation flourishes, diverse communities feel empowered, and the city’s cultural fabric is strengthened. Achieving success locally will help us lay the groundwork for replicating our model in other cities facing similar challenges.Program Goals and Vision
To drive San Francisco’s recovery, Yes SF Headquarters will focus on three key areas:
- Workforce Development: We will offer internship opportunities and skills-based workshops tailored to local residents, particularly those from underrepresented communities. Collaborating with local businesses, government agencies, and community organizations, our aim is to equip residents with the tools they need to succeed in the workforce, especially upskilling to meet the demands and opportunities in the new green economy. This focus on workforce development ensures that residents can participate in and benefit from the city’s economic resurgence.
- Support for Local Sustainable Startups: Our monthly workshops will address the specific needs of local entrepreneurs, providing mentorship, resources, and networking opportunities. We are investing in the city’s economic future, particularly in sectors that contribute to environmental sustainability and resilience. These emerging businesses have the potential to transform the city into a hub of green innovation, with Yes SF supporting their journey.
- Resident Engagement and Local Revitalization: We are committed to creating platforms where our partners can showcase their programs, allowing residents and small businesses to actively engage with the Yes SF movement. Through community events and initiatives, we aim to foster pride and ownership in the city’s recovery, ensuring that the benefits extend across all neighborhoods.
