Event Details

Bibliophiles and plant lovers, get ready! Part book sale, part plant sale, this three day event begins on Friday, March 26th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., continues Saturday, March 27th from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and ends on Sunday, March 28th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The sale is free and open to the public.

Held at County Fair Building in Golden Gate Park, the Plant and Book Sale boasts new and used books from both Friends of the SFPL and the Helen Crocker Russell Library of Horticulture at the Botanical Garden and plants for Bay Area gardens suitable for any garden and gardening level.

The Plant and Book Sale features books in all categories, with emphasis on science, gardening, nature and Californiana. The sale also features DVDs, CDs, books on tape, cassette tapes, vinyl, VHS and other forms of media.

A wide assortment of unusual and beautiful plants propagated from the Botanical Garden’s own collections will be available. Ideally suited for Bay Area gardens, many of these plants are unique gems that are seldom found in retail nurseries and garden centers.

All proceeds from Plant and Book Sale fund the San Francisco Public Library’s conservation education programs and the San Francisco Botanical Garden.
