San Francisco Opera’s Free Fall 2020 Steaming Series (Oct. 10-25)
The best from the San Francisco Opera stage is beaming once again to a screen near you. Get ready: We’re opening our vault for a season full of classic productions, as the free Opera is ON streaming series continues!
The series launches Saturday, October 10, with one of the most beloved operas of all time: Giacomo Puccini’s Tosca from our 2014–15 Season. Riccardo Frizza conducts Lianna Haroutounian in a “phenomenal” role debut, hailed by the San Francisco Chronicle as a marvel of “beauty, precision, and power.”
Then, beginning on October 17, it’s all-out war with Giuseppe Verdi’s early triumph Attila featuring Nicola Luisotti on the podium and legendary bass Ferruccio Furlanetto in a blazing performance as Attila the Hun from our 2011–12 Season.
And on the weekend of October 24, you’re invited to the wedding of the season: our 2015 production of Mozart’s laugh-out-loud comedy The Marriage of Figaro with Philippe Sly, Lisette Oropesa, Luca Pisaroni, and Nadine Sierra under the baton of Patrick Summers.
Each streaming opera broadcasts for free starting 10am Pacific on Saturday and is available to watch until 11:59pm Sunday. So kick back and relax as we bring great opera home to you — with more titles coming soon!
