In honoring the first Chinese American film star in United States history, the Anna May Wong commemorative quarter has entered circulation! The Sing Tao Daily and Chinatown Visitor Information Center are hosting a “face-value quarter exchange” event. Simply bring in your regular quarter and exchange it for a freshly minted Anna May Wong quarter (limit to one per person, and while supplies last). The American-Chinese Numismatic Society will also be distributing collectible “American National Park Quarter Albums” to children. The honorable Treasurer of California, Fiona Ma, will join us in celebrating this momentous occasion. Let’s honor Anna May Wong’s legacy and all that she accomplished in American cinema.
