Event Details

The Southeast Community Center invites you to attend our first-ever Black History Month celebration on February 18th, 2023! Come join us and experience a full day of family-friendly activities including:
A parade from the Opera House to the Southeast Community Center
Children’s activities with horse rides from the black cowboys.
A classic cars exhibition
A free line dancing class
A viewing of the “I’m Charlie Walker” movie, celebrating the life of a Bayview Icon
Tabling from local vendors
Black History Queen Float
Free food
And much more!!!
The parade kicks off at 11 am, the speaking program at 12:30 pm, and activities start at 1 pm. The evening will include several gala-style activities in our main event spaces and 2nd-floor multipurpose rooms from 5 pm – 8 pm. Come celebrate Black History Month with the Southeast Community Center!
