Event Details

In partnership with the SF Deltas, America SCORES Bay Area, Another Planet Entertainment, and Northern Police Station, SF Rec and Park is hosting a Meet-the-Players event at Civic Center Plaza on March 17, 2017.

The event will be free to the public for hundreds of fans to meet the players and welcome the SF Deltas to the City. The players will be hosting soccer clinics for kids, as well as signing autographs, taking photos and giving out swag. There will also be face painting and instant photos for fans to show their team spirit.

Ready for the After Party? Following the Kick-Off at the Civic Center, join the Deltas for a Happy Hour Reception at Bill Graham Auditorium hosted by Another Planet Entertainment from 4:45 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the second floor balcony. Free food and drinks will be provided at the Happy Hour Reception. All SF Deltas fans are invited

The SF Deltas kicks off their first NASL season on March 25th playing at historic Kezar Stadium. They will play 16 home games at Kezar with the season ending on October 28.

  • Meet and Greet – 3:30pm to 5pm at Civic Center Plaza
  • Happy Hour – 4:45pm to 7pm at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium

When fans arrive, they will meet many SF Deltas players but to highlight a few:

Saalih Muhammad, midfielder, Richmond, CA: Saalih is a Bay Area native who earned a professional contract in his home region. Saalih was one of over 300 participants in the SF Deltas Open Tryouts in November and was invited to preseason training camp. He signed a contract with the Deltas on February 14 and will be included in the squad for the inaugural season.

Cristian Portilla, midfielder, Santander, Spain: Cristian has held the position of center-mid for teams all over the world. Trained by the Spanish National Team from U-16 to U-21 and developed in the Racing Santander youth ranks, Portilla has played for first-division squads in Spain, Greece, Hungary and Cyprus, and competed against the likes of Messi, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and David Villa.

Devon Sandoval, forward, Albuquerque, NM: Selected in the second round of the 2013 MLS SuperDraft by Real Salt Lake, the striker scored seven goals in parts of four seasons with RSL. In 2015, Sandoval won the MLS Goal of the Week for a bender he scored against the Montreal Impact. He played his final three years of college soccer with the University of New Mexico, where he was an All-American in 2012 after leading NCAA Division I in scoring with 15 goals and seven assists.
