Welcome to the 60th annual Festival of Chariots. His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada organized the first Jagannātha Ratha-yātrā festival in San Francisco in 1967.

Jagannātha means “Lord of the Universe.” It is mentioned in the Vedic literatures, rathe ca vamanam drstva punar janma na vidyate: “Simply by seeing the Lord on the chariot, one makes advancement toward stopping the repetition of birth and death.”

Join this colorful spiritual festival and help pull the chariots, enjoy a free vegetarian feast, explore educational exhibits, watch cultural performances, and celebrate with the community.

Families can also explore exhibits about reincarnation and the Bhagavad-Gita, along with devotional music, dance, and dramas depicting the pastimes of Lord Krishna.

The parade begins and ends in Golden Gate Park.

Hosted by ISKCON Berkeley.
