SF Rec and Park to Offer Free Pool Access on Tuesday, October 1-2, 2024
SF Residents can cool off at a nearby pool amid the hot summer weather

If you’re looking to beat the heat as summer temperatures soar, all 9 public pools in San Francisco will be free and open to all on Tuesday & Wednesday, October 1-2, 2024.

The US National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory in the region, with temperatures in San Francisco expected to reach the 90s today, October 1-2. If you’re looking to beat this unseasonably spooky October heat, our public pools in San Francisco will be free and open to all today from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Please refer to the pool schedule on each aquatic facility’s page. Note that during listed lap swims, we will be offering cooling spaces for those that need it.

Please note, that although the pools are free and open all day, there still are lessons and activities when the pools will not be open for free swim. There’s usually a 90-minute to 2-hour “family swim” time where people can just come in, have fun and take a dip and splash around on Oct. 1-2. Please see the pools’ schedules to check for when they are open for free swim.
