Japan Week is a summer cultural festival featuring performances, workshops & demonstrations in San Francisco Japantown.

Join us for our annual summer festival of Japanese arts and culture. Enjoy performances of taiko drumming, awa odori dance, Okinawan drumming and dance, karate, and shamisen. Get hands on and make your own washi ningyo paper doll, origami, or shodo calligraphy.

Join us for Generations of Joy through Drumming and Dance at Studio Gen in the Japan Center East Mall!

Led by Sensei Melody, children and senior citizens within the community have been learning the skills of taiko drumming, movements of odori dance and the significance of Japanese culture through Japanese folk songs and dance. Come celebrate their accomplishments and hard work at this public performance.
