SF’s 2022 Nihonmachi Street Fair in Japantown (August 6-7)
The 48th Annual Nihonmachi Street Fair (NSF) is an important come back from a year of not being able to experience, embrace and enjoy the annual festivities. On August 6th and 7th, NSF will bring the Summer of Love back to Japantown and with that stellar performances and activities for everyone to enjoy.
This year’s event is scaled back (like 2021) with all performances at the Clear Channel Outdoor Peace Plaza. Post Street from Webster to Laguna will showcase our AAPI nonprofit community organizations (Saturday only), Doggie World (Saturday only), Asian Artisans, Sounds of Thunder Car Show (Sunday only), Art & Soul of Jtown and Children’s World area

Saturday & Sunday, August 6 & 7, 2022 | 11:00am – 6:00pm
Post Street from Webster & Laguna + Japantown Peace Plaza, SF
Free and open to the public
- Sounds of Thunder Car Show w/ 25 classic muscle cars – Sunday Only (11a-5p)
- Doggie Word – Saturday Only
- There is no food festival for 2022 in order to help support Japantown’s restaurants
- All performances will take place on the Peace Plaza stage.
Post Street from Webster to Laguna will be closed and will showcase AAPI nonprofit organizations, Asian artisans, Sounds of Thunder Car Show (Sun), Art & Soul of Jtown, and Children’s World. Live music at the Clear Channel Outdoor Stage. Doggie World will also be back on Saturday.
Clear Channel Outdoor Stage – Peace Plaza
At this year’s 48th Annual Nihonmachi Street Fair the Clear Channel Outdoor Stage will feature local R&B, Jazz, Funk & Pop performances. Take a seat and take in the sounds of our communities at the NSF Clear Channel Outdoor Stage. The Nihonmachi Street Fair is grateful to Clear Channel Outdoors for their continued support.

Fur Baby Mania at the 2022 Nihonmachi Street Fair
San Francisco is frequently cited as one of America’s most pet-friendly cities, especially dogs. It’s a city with family and dog friendly experiences…and where dogs out number children. We welcome you to our 10th Annual Doggie World.
On Saturday, August 6th at this year’s 48th Annual Nihonmachi Street Fair’s Doggie World, will again be a special gathering place for the four-legged members of our community to join in on the fun. Local animal experts, adoption agencies. and vet professionals will be in attendance to offer tips and information. Highlights from past year’s Doggie World: Pet Vendors, Rescues and Adoptions, Ask the Dogtor, Parade and Pageant Contest, wagbags, Pet Portraits and much more!
NOTE: Doggie World is only on Saturday, August 6 from 11am – 5pm at the lower area of Post Street.
