San Francisco’s 20th annual Fat Tuesday festival in the Fillmore returns on February 17, 2026.

The Village Project proudly announces the 20th Annual Mardi Gras San Francisco Style, returning to the Fillmore District on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, for an evening of culture, music, and community celebration. Now in its second decade, this signature event continues to honor the rich traditions of New Orleans while uplifting the legacy of the Fillmore as a historic center of Black art, music, and community life.

Festivities will begin at 5:00 PM with a spirited processional down the Fillmore corridor, led by the renowned MJ Brass Boppers, whose vibrant sound brings the unmistakable energy of a New Orleans second line to San Francisco’s streets.
The celebration will continue at 7:00 PM with a free community blues concert in the Fillmore Center Plaza, featuring dynamic performances by Cherronda G and Tebo. This annual concert remains a cornerstone of the event, offering residents and visitors an opportunity to gather, dance, and enjoy world‑class music in the heart of the neighborhood.

“For twenty years, Mardi Gras San Francisco Style has been a joyful expression of culture, resilience, and community,” said Adrian Williams, Executive Director of The Village Project. “We are honored to continue this tradition and to bring people together in celebration of the Fillmore’s enduring spirit.” The Village Project invites families, neighbors, and visitors from across the Bay Area to join in this milestone year of Mardi Gras festivities. The event is free and open to the public.
