SF’s Muni Heritage Weekend 2025: Ride Rare Historic Vehicles (Sept. 20-21)
The popular Muni Heritage Weekend is on for Saturday and Sunday, September 20-21, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The traction (and bus) action will be centered around our San Francisco Railway Museum at the Steuart Street F-line stop (between Market and Mission).
We expect two Blackpool Boat Trams to run again, along with Muni’s irreplaceable Car 1, (America’s first publicly-owned streetcar, from 1912), the delightful single truck “Dinky” streetcar from 1896, international trams and, we hope, a surprise or two. Of course, there’ll also be an array of Muni’s vintage buses from 35 to 87 years old (cue the 1990 Orion yelling, “HEY, who you calling ‘Vintage’?”), cable cars from disappeared lines available to ride just a block away on California Street, and lots more. Details in future issues of Outside Track, our member newsletter Inside Track, and on streetcar.org
