SF’s Newest Mural Restoration Unveiling (24th St. BART Plaza)
BART Mural Restoration Celebration – Ribbon Ceremony at 11am with Mariachi Band, Refreshments at 24th Street BART Station Plaza.
At 5pm there is an evening celebrations with live music from local band Caliot Franco Latin Jazz all-stars, small art piece display and fun for the whole family
Almost 50 years since originally painted and brought back vibrancy to the plaza. This historic mural by Michael Rios was damaged and graffitied over early this summer and crews along with legendary Michael Rios and alongside artists Carlos Kookie Gonzalez and Suaro Cervantes have been working hard to restore the mural.
