SF’s Skate Golden Gate 46th Year Anniversary “Skate Week” (July 15-20)

A roller skating rink at the Golden Gate Bridge, one of the most famous landmarks in the world? This is like a dream come true!!! From July 15 through July 20, Building 937 in San Francisco’s Presidio will be transformed into a fantastic roller disco, the Church of 8 Wheels Golden Gate.
Skate Week is a 6 day celebration of roller skating and inline skating in the greatest city in the world – San Francisco!!! It celebrates 46 years since the birth of the Golden Gate Park Skate Patrol which was formed to keep roller skating from being banned in Golden Gate Park
Open sessions roll Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from noon to 6PM . Friday and Saturday open session is from noon to 7PM. There are themed sessions each night.
Tuesday, 7/15/2025 – Grand Opening – The Skaters Red and White Ball
Wednesday, 7/16/2025 – Welcome to Alterna Goth Skate
Thursday 7/17/2025 – LGBTQ+ Pride Roller Disco
Friday, July 18, 2025 – Michael vs Prince Skate
Saturday, July 19, 2025 – Boots on the Ground Texas Takeover
There is something for everyone at Skate Golden Gate – Skate Week San Francisco. you can attend a session or get an all access pass and skate both here and at the Church of 8 Wheels in the Fillmore during Skate Week as well.
A portion of the fees you pay will go towards awarding scholarships or San Francisco college bound youth. We are working with Chuck Burch and his Skating for Scholarships Program. Scholarships will be awarded on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at the closing Boots on the Ground event.
This will surely be another example of San Francisco’s unique roller skating vibe and culture.
