Event Details

Conservation groups and whale lovers will gather on Tuesday, June 8 – which is World Oceans Day – at Crissy Field East Beach in San Francisco to honor the 12 dead whales that have washed up in the Bay Area this year and call for greater protections. “A Wake for the Whales” will feature colorful visuals, a scenic backdrop, and speakers with expertise on the three top threats to whales: ship strikes, entanglement in fishing gear and climate change
