This event marks the public premiere of ShadowLight Productions’ new, visually rich short film, which reimagines the formative years of painter Marc Chagall. Inspired by his autobiography “Mein Leben,” the 8-minute, 46-second film blends shadow puppetry, animation, and early cinematic techniques to transform Chagall’s paintings into a living tapestry of light and movement.
The program includes:
- Screening of the film (English Narration by Peter Coyote, French Narration by Tchéky Karyo).
- A conversation with Director Larry Reed and Art Director & Artist Naomie Kremer.
- A live demonstration of the puppets and techniques.
- Complimentary refreshments.
This is a unique opportunity for Bay Area art and film enthusiasts to experience Chagall’s world through an innovative, multidisciplinary lens.
