Why visit Hunters Point Shipyard Open Studios?
Because nowhere else in the Bay Area can you wander through a historic WWII-era shipyard turned thriving creative village — home to the largest artist community in the United States. For one weekend, the doors swing open and you’re invited inside.
At Shipyard Open Studios 2026, you’ll find:
100+ artists in their working studios. Meet the makers where the work actually happens. Hear the stories behind the pieces, see works in progress, ask about techniques and materials, and buy art directly from the artists themselves. Painting, sculpture, jewelry, photography, ceramics, metalwork, and much more — spread across five historic buildings at the Shipyard.
A silent auction worth bidding on. Take home one-of-a-kind original artwork while directly supporting the local artists who made it. Every bid is an investment in the Bay Area’s creative community.
Food, drink, and live music. Two spots to refuel: our beer garden serving classic BBQ, and a food court with Colombian, Mexican, and Mediterranean vendors plus an espresso bar. Live jazz and classical sets play throughout the day.
Fun for all ages. Hands-on kids’ activities (including mini golf!), live music, and a festive, welcoming atmosphere where families can relax, explore, and discover something new together.
