Event Details

Freespace Pop-Up Community Center

Freespace is a pop-up community center focused on hacking the civic experience. It is hosted in a 14,000 sqft warehouse in S0Ma, San Francisco, envisioned and implemented entirely by you.

Freespace was originally just a one month project, but it was extended to two months thanks to successful Indiegogo campaign. They’re now open periodically (check their schedule). They host a wide array of events and projects like classes, music, art, silent discos, yoga, a free bikeshare, community engagement and field trips, and more than a few silly costumes.

Silent Connections | Freespace Pop-Up Community Center

Shhhhh….

“Nowadays we rely so heavily on verbal communication that it has become our crutch – our main way to try and understand each other; we forget the importance of observing, feeling and being silent.”

Connect with strangers turned friends through a series of silent activities that will open up your minds and hearts while keeping a zip on the lip.
