Art work on display at Solarpunkification 2026:

Design Science Studios

Pick up a physical phone to listen to regenerative stories of the future. Constructed from reclaimed and renewable materials, regen•era is co-created by artists, designers, systems thinkers, and storytellers shaping regenerative futures.

1000 signs. A global invitation to reconnect to our common humanity. What would your sign say?

Solarpunkification 2026 is being held at Mabuhay Gardens is an  important physical infrastructure for radical belonging. It’s a container that has the potential for artists to form right relationships with future selves via rites of passage such as surpassing one’s expectations of what is possible. Solarpunk builds on deep punk roots from Iggy Pop to Patti Smith to the Ramones and the Specials who all performed at Mabuhay Gardens. Regenerative futurists, systems change leaders, and many others in our mix can likewise be influenced by who has come before us on this stage.

Solarpunkification 2026 is a three-day gathering where solar punks, artists, musicians, regenerative futurists, systems thinkers, designers, creatives, technologists, and community builders come together to explore a simple question: What happens when a cultural space becomes a working laboratory for the futures we actually want to live in?

The Solarpunk vision asks what becomes possible when technology and nature work together and when imagination gets treated as serious infrastructure. Mabuhay Gardens becomes a place to prototype those answers—not through theory, but through the actual experience of it together.

You can see last year’s 2025 Solarpunkification Youtube Playlist at https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLA1524DqsFLlrlLPoZL1ToE5No1CSyKQd. You can see last year’s popup information at https://solarpunkification.art/. Last year’s event established that we are not just observing the future; we are actively prototyping it through the “interdisciplinary Goldilocks Zone” where art, science, and indigenous wisdom converge.

Mabuhay Gardens- the building at 435 Broadway in San Francisco has always been a place where culture transforms itself. Louis Armstrong played here along with many others from Allen Ginsberg, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, The Dead Kennedys, Iggy Pop, The Sex Pistols, The Ramones, The Specials, Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Herbie Hancock, R.E.M., and Soundgarden. Robin Williams, Whoopi Goldberg, and Dave Chappelle found their voices on this stage.

Mabuhay Gardens at Solarpunkification 2026 represents important physical infrastructure for radical belonging. Its a container that has the potential for artists to form right relationships with future selves via rights of passage such as surpassing one’s expectations of what is possible. On stage in 2025 it was striking at Mabuhay Gardens to see artists give some of the most exquisite performances while sharing on stage that they are raising their game specifically to be in alignment with the extraordinary artists who have been on stage at that space in history. The same is true for all of us- that the vibe coders build on jazz traditions such as Louis Armstrong’s history at Mabuhay Gardens, solar punk builds on deep punk roots from Iggy Pop to Patty Smith to the Ramones and the Specials who all performed at Mabuhay Gardens. Regenerative futurists, systems change leaders, and many others in our mix can likewise be influenced by who has come before us on this stage. Solarpunkification 2026 is platform for us all to raise collective game for the sake of our most preferred futures becoming our most probable.

There are many sciences which have leveraged the metaphor of a goldilocks zone. We will create a goldilocks zone for understanding experientially, artistically, intellectually, musically and somatically the bright futures that we have in mind together.
