The Speakeasy Storytellers began in 2013 as a forum for storytellers to share true stories on stage. The event, founded by Abdul Kenyatta, celebrates the art and craft of story-making. Everyone has stories to tell. Stories have power. They delight, enchant, touch, teach, recall, inspire, motivate and challenge. They help us understand. Stories are related human experiences. Stories connect us and bridge differences. The Speakeasy Series supports themed storytelling productions.
