St. Patrick’s Day is a global observance of Irish culture that takes place annually on March 17th, which is celebrated with parades, festivals and parties all over the world!
From Boston to Beijing, people celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with traditional Irish music, dancing and food. The most popular tradition is wearing green clothing or accessories – if you don’t wear green on St. Patrick’s Day, you may get pinched! Other traditions include decorating with shamrocks and four-leaf clovers, eating traditional Irish dishes such as corned beef and cabbage or soda bread, and drinking Guinness beer or Irish whiskey.
One of the most popular activities in San Francisco for St. Patrick’s Day is attending a pub crawl – a bar hopping event where participants visit multiple pubs in one night while drinking beer and other alcoholic beverages along the way. Pub crawls are a great way to celebrate the holiday while having fun with friends!
